The Flying Fijians faced a tough challenge against the All Blacks and struggled to keep up with their opponents' performance. Despite showing improvement in the second half, they were unable to capitalise on their opportunities and failed to score. The Fijians' missed 54 tackles, while the All Blacks only missed seven, and they were unable to convert their breakouts into points, often losing possession close to the All Blacks' line.

Fiji has a history of causing upsets, having defeated tier one teams like Wales, Scotland, Australia, France, Italy, Argentina, and England. There were high expectations for the Fijian side, especially with the recent addition of the all Fijian Super Rugby team, the "Fiji Dura," in the Super Rugby Pacific. Fans would have anticipated a stronger performance from the Fijian team in their match against the All Blacks.

Fiji will enter the Pacific Nations Cup with valuable lessons learned from this match.
