Shenzhen, China, Jul. 01 – Samoa's U18 women's basketball team clinched a remarkable victory over Iran, securing third place in the FIBA U-18 Women's Asia Cup Division B. The closely contested game ended with Samoa triumphing 64-59.

The match showcased the Samoan team's resilience and determination. Despite Iran's strong preliminary performance, which included wins against Chinese Taipei, Kyrgyzstan, and Samoa, they were unable to overcome Samoa in this crucial playoff. Iran's journey also saw a semifinal defeat to Lebanon, 64-49, which prevented them from contending for the top spots.

Samoa's victory not only marks a significant achievement in their basketball journey but also highlights their growth and potential in the sport. The team's collective effort and strategic gameplay were key factors in their success against Iran.

The FIBA U-18 Women's Asia Cup Division B, held in Shenzhen, provided a platform for young athletes to display their talents and sportsmanship. With the Philippines also earning a spot in Division A after defeating Lebanon 95-64, the tournament has set the stage for the future stars of women's basketball in Asia.

Samoa's third-place finish is a proud moment for the team and their supporters, celebrating their hard work and dedication throughout the competition.
